Discover the very best of Morocco on this comprehensive 15-day journey from Casablanca to Marrakech. This carefully crafted adventure takes you through imperial cities, ancient Roman ruins, the blue streets of Chefchaouen, the spiritual heart of Fes, the golden dunes of the Sahara, dramatic mountain gorges, traditional Berber villages, the High Atlas Mountains, and the laid-back coastal charm of Essaouira — before concluding in the vibrant Red City of Marrakech.
Along the way, you’ll sleep under desert stars in a luxury camp, share meals with Berber families, hike scenic mountain trails, and immerse yourself in centuries of history and culture. This is Morocco in its full diversity — a true adventure for travelers who want to see it all.
Upon arrival at Casablanca Airport, you'll be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. As this is an arrival day, check-in is typically available from midday onward. This evening, join your tour leader for a welcome meeting before settling in for the night.
During your time in Casablanca, you'll visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque — the largest mosque in Africa, built between 1987 and 1993. Marvel at the extraordinary craftsmanship of Moroccan artisans, showcased in every intricate detail of this architectural masterpiece.
After breakfast, we travel to Rabat, Morocco's capital. Explore the tranquil Chellah Gardens, enclosed within defensive walls dating back to the 14th century. Visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, resting place of Morocco's modern kings, and admire the Hassan Tower, an unfinished 12th-century minaret.
Continue to the Kasbah of the Oudayas, a fortified 12th-century military base offering stunning views over the Bou Regreg River, where it meets the Atlantic Ocean.
Today we drive north through fertile farmland near Kenitra and El Gharb, passing scenic landscapes of cedar, oak, and almond trees, before arriving in Chefchaouen by afternoon.
Nestled between two peaks in the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is one of Morocco's most enchanting towns. Founded by Andalusian refugees fleeing the Spanish Reconquista, its striking blue-washed walls, whitewashed houses, and red-tiled roofs give it a distinctly Mediterranean character. Spend the afternoon wandering its peaceful streets, visiting the Kasbah and its gardens, or hiking into the surrounding hills.
We head south through Moulay Idriss, Morocco's holiest pilgrimage town, before reaching the UNESCO World Heritage site of Volubilis — the remarkably preserved ruins of an ancient Roman city. Walk among its arches, basilicas, and stunning mosaics along the Decumanus Maximus.
Enjoy a memorable lunch inspired by traditional Roman recipes amid the ruins, before continuing to Fes, arriving by evening.
Discover Fes, the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco. Begin with a panoramic view over the ancient medina and visit a traditional ceramics workshop. Enter Fes el Bali, the medieval old town that has remained largely unchanged for centuries.
Visit the renowned Al-Karaouine Mosque, founded in 857 and home to one of the world's oldest universities. Explore a traditional Medersa (Quranic school), wander through the souks, and finish at the legendary Chouara Tannery, in operation for over nine centuries.
A scenic driving day across changing landscapes. We pass through Ifrane, known as "Little Switzerland" for its alpine architecture and high-altitude setting, before stopping for lunch in the Berber town of Midelt, at the foot of the High Atlas.
Continue through dramatic mountain passes and palm oases, passing Errachidia and Erfoud — famous for its fossils — before reaching the towering dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. Meet your camel guides for a memorable ride into the desert, where you'll spend the night in a traditional Berber camp, enjoying dinner under the stars and music around the campfire.
Visit Rissani, the historic capital of the Tafilalt region and former center of the Alaouite Dynasty, along with its bustling souk and the mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif. Learn about the ancient underground irrigation channels (khettaras) that sustain the region's oasis agriculture.
Continue to the spectacular Todra Gorge, where towering canyon walls rise dramatically on either side of the road — a landscape often compared to the American Southwest.
Travel along the famous "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs," lined with ancient fortified structures. Stop in the Dades Valley for lunch with a Berber family, including a hands-on cooking experience and a walk through the valley.
Continue through the Valley of Roses, celebrated each spring for its rose harvest festival, before arriving in Ouarzazate — nicknamed the "Hollywood of Africa" for its film studios, which have hosted productions including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Kingdom of Heaven. Visit the historic Taourirt Kasbah.
Visit the legendary Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 and former caravan stop between the Sahara and Marrakech. Its dramatic fortified architecture has featured in numerous films, including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia.
We then cross the High Atlas via the dramatic Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m) before continuing to Imlil, gateway village to Mount Toubkal — North Africa's highest peak. Meet your mountain guide for an introduction to Berber village life amid breathtaking scenery.
Spend the day hiking through the High Atlas with your guide, exploring remote Berber villages clinging to the mountainside. Meet local communities whose traditions have remained largely unchanged for over 5,000 years, and enjoy a traditional lunch in a Berber home or as a scenic picnic.
In the afternoon, we descend back toward Marrakech, settling into a riad near Jemaa el-Fnaa for the night.
Travel to the charming coastal town of Essaouira, known for its laid-back atmosphere and rich multicultural history shaped by Portuguese, French, and Jewish influences. Its fortified medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001, is a fine example of 18th-century military architecture in North Africa.
Wander the Skala Fortress, browse workshops of hand-carved thuya wood, and enjoy the relaxed maze of the medina's narrow streets.
A full day to discover this former Portuguese trading post, once known as Mogador. Stroll the lively Place Moulay Hassan, visit the fishing harbor of Skala du Port, and explore the spice souks and the historic Mellah quarter.
Enjoy fresh seafood at a quayside grill, and visit the square dedicated to Orson Welles, who filmed Othello here in 1952. The afternoon is free to relax on the beach or explore at your own pace.
On the road back to Marrakech, stop at an argan oil cooperative, where Berber women demonstrate the traditional process of extracting this prized oil by hand — a craft passed down through generations.
Discover the "Red City" on a full guided tour of Marrakech. Visit the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, wander the Majorelle Gardens, and explore the opulent Bahia Palace.
Experience the legendary Jemaa el-Fnaa square, alive with storytellers, musicians, and street performers by day, transforming into a vast open-air food market by night. Spend your final afternoon shopping for souvenirs in the bustling souks.
Following your flight schedule, we'll transfer you to Casablanca Airport for your departure. Thank you for choosing Morocco Travel Specialist for your Moroccan adventure — we hope this journey leaves you with memories to last a lifetime.
